The first fight of the evening of UFC 318 will be fought between Michael Johnson and Daniel Zellhuber. This will be the 31st time we see Johnson in the Octagon. However, at 39 years of age, his record is getting worse and worse, with 23 wins and 19 losses in his career.
Yet the Menace is still doing it. The last we saw him was when he put a beating on Ottman Azaitar, finishing him in the second round. This was Johnson’s second win in a row, which raised his stock a bit and put him in line for a fight against Zellhuber.
Unfortunately, Daniel Zellhuber is as tough as it gets. He is a certified striker with a 15-2 MMA record. The last we saw him was losing via decision against Esteban Ribovics in a Fight of the Night bout at UFC 306. The split decision could have gone either way, but eventually ended Zellhuber’s three-fight win streak.
Zellhuber is 13 years younger than Johnson, and while I do see some veterans getting the better of these young, up-and-coming fighters, this is not the case. The Golden Boy should be getting back to the win column, and in this case, I see him doing so by knockout.
